Craftmaster Aviation was formed out of my desire to share my passion for aviation with others. For most companies the addition of a corporate aircraft can be a game changer and propel them to the next level. It is, however, one of the most expensive assets on the books.
Business aircraft are extremely complex machines. Because of the expense involved with purchasing the right aircraft, Craftmaster Aviation works closely with our clients and gets to know their business so we can make the best recommendation to enhance their business.
The purchase of a corporate aircraft is not about us it is about you.
John Koltes began flying when he was just a boy. Both his parents were private pilots and his family was always drawn to the clear blue skies. After obtaining his student pilot license and flying solo at the age of 16 he wanted to work in the aviation industry as a career. While attending college at the University of North Texas he obtained his private and instrument pilot licenses. During his college career John enlisted in the Texas Air National Guard and studied meteorology.
After graduating with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing and an associates degree in Applied Sciences, John left North Texas to pursue a flying career. He obtained flight instructor ratings and began flying commercially out of the Denton, TX airport in a Cessna 400 series aircraft. John’s flying career progressed from the Cessna 400 to the Cessna Caravan and then to the Falcon 20. As a Falcon 20 captain John was promoted to Chief Pilot and from that day on he wanted to own his own aviation business.
After a move to Omaha, NE John was given the opportunity to help start an aircraft management company called UltraAir. Together with the owner, John turned a one Learjet 35A operation into a very robust and successful aircraft management company that managed several types of aircraft from turbo-props to large corporate jets. Leaving UltraAir to move his family back to North Texas, John was eager to start his own company serving North Texas and beyond.
